Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is a well-known Indian actress, best recognized for her roles in the films Beta Saajan, Hum Aapke Hain Koun. Her career began in the late 1980s, and rose to prominence with her performance in the film Tezaab in which she was a part of the cast alongside an established actor Anil Kapoor. In her next film Dil, Aamir Khan appeared alongside her. In her early years she began learning at an early stage. She ventured into acting as a youngster and struggled for several years because many of her early films failed. Then she found her feet and became one of the leading actresses in the Indian film business. Following her marriage she had a career break before reentering the industry. Recently, she played a prominent part as a character in Gulaab Gang. The film was about struggles faced by women in India. Dixit was nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards. Of these she's received 8. Padma Shri is the fourth most prestigious civilian award in India. She has also been recognized for her work in the social sector.
